"The Boxer" is a beautiful series with well-developed characters, but the fights in this series are also exciting. On his journey to become the world's greatest professional boxer, he battles a variety of opponents with his unique fighting style, always making for exciting reading. You will also get to know about the world of boxing in this story as the boxer will teach you various boxing terminology, strategies and fighting techniques throughout the story. Also, for those new to boxing, there are some notes at the end of Volume 1 explaining the terminology and techniques used in this series, which will help clarify the content as you read.
Even if you don't know much about boxing, you'll be fascinated by this fight because it has meaning. In each battle, the characters fight not only with the enemy, but also with themselves, so it is interesting. The Boxer is full of drama and suspense, features incredible rivalries, strong protagonists and antagonists, and explores the human condition, making it a relatable read. If you are already familiar with JH's work, you will be familiar with the style in which they draw. Boxer has a more minimalist aesthetic and I love his style of art. I think there's a lot of pure emotion in JH's artwork and the panels are really emotional.
The way JH constructs his panels, brings out the inner emotions of his characters, and captures the emotion of the moment through their actions and their surroundings is what makes JH's work most distinctive. JH's storytelling is also great, and their work often highlights both the dark and light sides of humanity. They are profound with a melancholic atmosphere, but there is always a glimmer of hope, no matter how small or distant it shines.
It's mostly because of the characters striving to get better and continue to move forward in the world. It's full of darkness. The Horizon is one of the most difficult series I've ever read. It really broke my heart because it's about two kids trying to survive in the apocalypse. But in "The Boxer," JH enters entirely new territory and finds success in a similar, yet completely different way.
For me, both Tomb Raider King and Boxer are absolute masterpieces, and I can only warmly recommend them. I couldn't be happier that Ize Press prints both series. I'm looking forward to seeing what else they have in store in the future. Fans of dark sports shows will love The Boxer, and this is a show they'll love, too. It's a fascinating read with a story and characters that develop phenomenally throughout the episodes, and you won't be able to put it down.
