Have you ever needed to have a little extra space while traveling? Maybe doing business remotely? You should definitely look into getting this awesome device for the home and office. With this device you can be half way across the world and still be able to access them safely and with ease. When I travel to different places for events I hate carrying a lot of equipment with me. So what I started doing is I downloaded the My Cloud app onto my phone and onto my Macbook, so that I can store photos and do my articles and not have to save them directly onto my Mac.
With that being said I have yet to fill up my cloud, I will keep on trying though. One thing is for sure is that it saved me when I was in Germany , when I had to show my articles to someone and my site was down I pulled up the spare copy in the drive to show them my work. I also keep some important documents that are sometimes needed for press registration at certain events. That way I can just pull them up on my phone and not have to worry about it ! When it comes to speed and connectivity, as long as you have high speed Internet access at home you shouldn't have any problems.
With this product you can swap the drive that's included with a bigger drive ! Meaning if you get the 2tb but you have an 8 or 10 TB laying around you can literally just swap it out. With the two bay you can make a raid zero or a raid one ! It depends if you want to mirror the drive or just use the full space. Currently I am using the drives as a raid that mirrors the drive on to the other one. This makes it so much easier just in case one drive fails you can swap out the failed drive and still have access to all of your files. With the app you can access all of your files on the go without any lag, that way you don't have to use up any of your storage space on either your phone or laptop.
The power consumption of the unit is relatively low, It runs on a s much power as a router. Remember that you have to have this on 24/7 as well as you have to have it in a well ventilated area so that it doesn't overheat. If you maintain the device and keep it cool as well as ventilated away from dirt and dust. This will prolong the life of the device. With this being said this device has been a life saver when it comes to store documents and pictures. If you have unlimited date on your phone you should be perfect because you can upload as much as you want without worrying about how much you have uploaded.
In conclusion this device is the must have for a startup, home office or even just around the house. Give everyone their own folder and have them upload whatever they like to store and you'll see how fast this device becomes the most beloved in the house. In conclusion since it has to be on 24/7 keep it cool , ventilated and dust free! Also make sure you check the drive once a month to make sure that there are no jitters within the drives themselves. If you hear any jitters that means the drive is about to fail and you should replace it ASAP. Besides that there really isn't anything I can say besides this device is awesome and worth its weight in gold!
